Summer is our quiet time - and hopefully our retreaters are also enjoying a well deserved rest

Having said this, we have been busy with our little ones! Many of you will remember walking under our owl boxes. Recently I announced to some of you that our barn owls were especially busy - and many of you witnessed them hunting for voles at sunset or at dawn. 

At last we have the owlets! Three females! Hopefully this will mean more barn owl spotting activity.

The other chicks which are now fledging are our Indian Runner Ducks. It has been a labour of love keeping them safe - as seen in the picture below - I even took them into our studio, where they spent a couple of weeks under the heat lamp, learning to swim in a bowl!
